The Barn

The Barn really offers the best of both worlds. It is a 300-year-old structure which was transported from about 5 miles away and imaginatively converted in 1997 into a delightful house.

It has a huge ground floor open-plan dining, living and kitchen space – with bedrooms off in the corners, and more beds up an oak staircase on a romantic mezzanine overlooking the top of the garden.

There’s a large bath/shower room, and separate lavatory. Visitors consider the well-equipped kitchen one of the nicest places in the world to create good meals in.

There’s another little bedroom hidden above the utility room off the kitchen. The barn terrace, under a large parasol, is the place for leisurely outdoor meals.

In all, the barn sleeps up to 8 people - it has a double bedroom, a double and single bed on the mezzanine, bunk beds in the little corner room, and twin beds in the 'secret' bedroom.
