The House

During the summer, visitors to the House spend a lot of  time on the large and shaded terrace, with its hammock and hanging vines. It’s the ideal place for reading quietly, chatting with friends,  eating every meal – catching the first morning sun, but then in shade as the day warms up.

Inside, three very different private bedrooms open from the large living room which has an open hearth fireplace.  The kitchen is well equipped and overlooks the garden and terrace.  Traditional quarry tiled floors, Richard Freeth’s individually designed wardrobe and original paintings by H. Andrew Freeth RA give this old house a special atmosphere.  Children love the little bunk bedded room and the small mezzanine attic where there are two further sleeping spaces.  In all, the house sleeps up to 8 people, if some are children – there are two double-bedded bedrooms, a room with two upper bunk beds and two single beds below, as well as the mezzanine.  There are two toilets, and two bath/shower rooms, one in an outside corridor.

You’ll find equipment for every game from croquet and darts, to badminton and boules stored in the outside rooms – and a weather-proof ping-pong table on the terrace.
